Description

Finish your Denso Tape wrap with a tough protective outer layer. Denso PVC SA Tape is a 0.20mm plasticised PVC tape with a pressure-sensitive adhesive on one side. It gives mechanical protection to the Denso Petrolatum Tape System on pipelines, joints and fittings, and suits higher service temperatures, up to 60°C continuous and 75°C intermittent peaks.

Ideal for

  • Protective outerwrap over Denso Tape on pipelines, joints and fittings
  • High-service-temperature environments, up to 60°C (75°C intermittent)
  • The final step of the Denso Petrolatum System (primer → mastic → tape → outerwrap)
  • Creating a moisture barrier in refrigeration units

Key benefits

  • Highly impermeable to air and moisture
  • Stable in composition and plasticity
  • Accommodates some vibration and movement of the substrate
  • Non-hardening and non-cracking
  • Resistant to mineral acids, alkalis and salts

How to apply

  1. Prepare the surface before applying the Denso Petrolatum System: clean metal surfaces with a wire brush. Firmly adherent rust and scale don't need to be removed.
  2. Apply the Denso Tape system first. See the Denso Tape page for primer and wrapping steps.
  3. Spirally wrap the PVC SA Tape over the Denso Tape at 55% overlap, with enough tension for continuous adhesion.
  4. Apply between 0°C and 60°C.

The complete Denso Petrolatum System

Step Product
1. Prime Denso MP (Multi Purpose) Primer, 2.5 kg
2. Profile Denso Mastic, 3 kg
3. Wrap Denso Tape, 50 / 100 / 150mm x 10m
4. Protect Denso PVC SA Outerwrap (this product)

Width tip: a good starting point is to match your outerwrap width to your Denso Tape width. It's a suggestion, not a requirement.
